While serving my two-year mission in Indianapolis, I was assigned to a difficult area where my companion and I had little success. We also didn’t see eye-to-eye on a lot of things. I was upset at everything going on and turned to God for answers. Eventually, an idea was given to me: start a spiritual podcast with your companion.
The idea was radical to me, since at first I could not understand how this would be in line with my missionary purpose of helping others come unto Christ. But then it clicked, by strengthening my relationship with my companion, we would have better success in our area. By distributing the podcast to other missionaries, we could strengthen their testimonies and help people all over the globe come closer to Christ. This idea was truly inspired.
And thus, Comp Study: The Podcast was born. A one-hour weekly show, beginning with my companion and I discussing our personal studies, followed by us bonding over random topics. From topics ranging from scripture analysis to personal testimony to conversion stories, the podcast explores a range of spirituality.
As the fanbase of missionaries grew, I decided it was time to expand to an audience of all members of the Church. Special episodes came out, such as the Holiday Specials for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, which were much more grounded topics for a general audience.
Today, Comp Study: The Podcast aims to provide entertainment and spiritual nourishment to missionaries currently serving, prospective missionaries preparing to serve, and returned missionaries. I hope you love it.
